The Certificate is awarded to candidates passing the relevant examination, which can only be taken as part of an accredited training course. The examination consists of a single,1-hour, "closed book", multiple-choice paper.
In order to pass, candidates must answer 18 or more questions correctly.
Although it is not a prerequisite, candidates who hold the ITIL Service Management Certificate or have attended an ITIL Service Management Foundation training course will be at an advantage.
This course is approved by ITSMF, the IT Service Management Forum and meets their training requirements.
The objectives of this course are to;
. Provide adequate knowledge on the contents and requirements of ISO/IEC 20000.
. Attain knowledge to conduct audits against the requirement of the standard.
. Provide opportunity to practice the knowledge gained during the sessions.
. Understand and establish the implementation requirements for an IT Service Management System through the process of PDCA. (Plan-Do-Check-Act)
. Identify and evaluate the areas of improvements
At the end of this course you should be able to:
. Conduct supervised audits for compliance against the requirements of ISO/IEC 20000 on behalf of a third party.
. Act as an internal/external auditor.
. Implement a demonstrable IT Service Management System.
Please note that the course is biased to the requirements of ISO/IEC 20000 and hence the finer details of audit techniques and the audit process are not covered.
